Marketplace coverage refers to health insurance plans that are part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
During the annual Open Enrollment Period, almost all Americans can enroll in health insurance through the Federal Marketplace.

The Open Enrollment Period for most states is November 1st – December 15th. If you enroll by December 15th, your coverage will begin January 1st.

Outside of the Open Enrollment Period, you can only enroll if you have a Qualifying Life Event, such as losing your health insurance, adopting a baby, or getting married.
There is no cost.  Consumers pay the same premium whether they use and agent or enroll themselves.
